VL300 Extractor
Hi
There seems to be a problem with the extractor unit on our VL300. We have power to the unit, the yellow LED flashes and the green one is on steadily when the unit is supposed to be running, but it isn't. The carbon filter is at 20% life remaining.

Can you advise please?

Re: VL300 Extractor
The yellow LED means that the USB has connected.
The green LED comes on when the motor should be running.

The most likely reason is the motor brushes in the extraction unit being worn.
If you remove the rear extraction unit you can gain acces to the motor & the brushes. Be careful though, it is quite easy to brake the electrical connection to the brushes. There is a small plate that slides down one side of the brush. It has a barb on it & needs to be pushed out with a small screwdriver. The first time I did this I broke one side & had to solder it back on.

I presume you have checked that you have 240 volts going to the extraction unit & both fuses are ok.
Re: VL300 Extractor
Thanks for that. Yes the mains and fuses are all ok, so Iwill have a look at the brushes.
Re: VL300 Extractor
Yes the brushes have had it. Any advise????

Re: VL300 Extractor
Thanks.
The official order is "en route".
Are fitting tips included, as with previous experience of different machines it is invaluable to have "tricks of the trade" knowledge.
Thanks again

Re: VL300 Extractor
I'm sure Martin will be able to advise further, but it looks like you need to be careful with the brush sideplate barbs....

Re: VL300 Extractor
Try to lever the plates out with a flat screwdriver.
