Cyclone Fanuc OTA, X axis judders & alarm 414
When homing the X axis on Cyclone Fanuc OTA fitted with Norwin drives the X axis judders quite rapidly & then trips out the fanuc control with alarm message 414.
The x axis moves freely when the drives are off & turned at the pulley.

Check the wire (twin screened) between the Norwin axis drive & the motor connection box. Replace if broken.

In my Cyclone Fanuc Manual a 414 alarm is an "X axis drive error", I`m not familiar with the Norwin drives but if you have DC servo motors then it is possible you need the armature cleaning. I have a couple of mills with DC servos and that is exactly the symptoms I get when the armatures need cleaning/skimming!

Hope that is of some use.
