Novamill - clean off packing grease

Novamill has been stored in original crate the machine arrived in 6 + years ago and never been opened/used. I have a question --- will the dried packing grease ever come off?

Use mild solvent to remove the grease (mineral oil, lighter fluid), then follow up with a light oil on the machine to lube it up (3 in 1, or gun oil)

WD 40 is also good to disolve the old oil.
