Cutting Ok on the RHS of the machine but not on the LHS

My Laser is cutting Ok on the RHS of the machine but not on the LHS. Any idea's ?

If the fault not been cured with the levelling up of the bed, then with the symptoms you mentioned, i.e. Cutting Ok on the RHS of the machine but not on the LHS, we think it could be the lens that is damaged. Can you visually inspect the lens and see if you can see any abnormalities i.e. Blackening, Cloudiness, surface build you of debris etc. If so you could try cleaning the surface with Acetone

sounds like an alignment issue
nozzle offset from the laser beam - given it a clout have we?

It could be the alignment of the laser beam.

Is the Red eye visible all over the bed? If the alignment of the beam is out it could be the beam is hitting the inside of the air assist cone.

Is it actually trying to cut or not doing anything at all?

It cuts through 3mm Acrylic on the RHS but does not fully penetrate on the LHS

I dunno if you can do this with your machines but we used to the following with the industrial stuff..

sellotape over the nozzle, mark the side facing you then fire a quick low level beam. That obviously zaps a hole in the sellotape. Take the nozzle off and check concentricity of the hole with a loupe. If it's not central give it a wallop

but, yeah, perhaps the lense is sh*gged, sorry I mean dirty

Sound like you definately need to measure the height from table to laser at both ends of the machine.
There must be a gross mis-alignment to take the focus so far out that it stops cutting through


Is the table / honeycomb bed sat down properly ??
Maybe some bits of acrylic has got underneath ?

IT sounds like a beam alignment issue, a tube issue or a table level issue.

Measure the parallelity from the carriage to the aluminum bed with the focus tool in all 4 corners and see if there is a diffference. If yes, then align the table!

Take a look at the focus lens. It may be that there is a black clouding effect on/in the lens. If this is the case then a replacement lens will overcome the problem.
