//18th October 2021. New settings for F1 Router with an extended range on the Y axis.
// 24 July 2024. Minor update that the version number on the exe is also increased to 5.71, and the salmon pink splash screens of the loading and installation screens have been changed to match the white ones of VR Milling 6.
I have downloaded this software and loaded it onto a PC.
It shows a build level of V5.70.0.872. Is that correct? Shouldn't it show as V5.71.x.xxx?
Thanks, Max.

Hi Max. Yes, the build should be 5.71 to match the installation. This has been updated now, and the livery changed to match version 6 as well. Otherwise the functionality is the same. Thankyou very much for spotting this.MAX THE MILLER wrote: ↑Tue 23 Jul , 2024 7:48 am I have downloaded this software and loaded it onto a PC.

I went to the download page and downloaded the latest version of VR Milling 5. I note that it shows an upload date of 29 July 2022.
Next I uninstalled the version I'm currently running. This shows as Version 5.70.0.872 when the app is opened, but Windows Settings (Control Panel) shows it as Version 5.70.0.668.
The new version was then installed. This shows as version 5.71.0.00 when the app is opened but Windows Settings (Control Panel) still shows it as Version 5.70.0.668.
I started the new version and read the Machine Disk.
On attempting to connect to a real machine I got the Error Message "Invalid Variant Type" (see screenshot). On attempting to home the machine I got a message saying the the machine was unsafe as the door was open. In fact it was firmly closed.
I repeated the whole sequence on another PC with the same result.
To restore correct operation I had to revert to version 5.70.0.872.
The two PC's were running Windows 10 and Windows 11 respectively. The machine is a Triac PC which has been upgraded from V24/RS232 to USB control. The machine type selected in VR Milling is Triac VME which has worked OK for the past 12 years.
What's gone wrong? Thanks.

Hi Max. We're currently investigating. Other than the version number and the colour scheme, the underlying code should be the same. The 5.70 release has the same functionality as the 5.71 so that can be continued to be used fine.
There is a new version of 5.71 released. This has been tested with a Router 2600, though we don't have a Triac to test against. Can you download and see if this works for you please?

There is a new version of 5.71 released. Its not an essential download, but does include all changes to enable modified legacy machines to run.
Thanks for your help with this.
I can conform that the latest version works fine with my upgraded Triac.
Max.
