miicrotouter mint/com issue

Post by Large519 » Sun 05 Jan , 2014 12:35 pm

I am having issues connecting vr5 to my router, it has problems finding the .mnt file on the denstep board. It's been happening the last few times i've tried using my router. All com settings are ok and the correct machine is set in vr5, is it the denstep board beginning to fail or another issue. After about 3-4hrs of trying to connect it eventually connects, even then it asks to download new .mnt file from my desktop.

Any help appreciated.

Is the seven segment LED lit?

Have you tried with a direct RS232 cable?

Hi, yes the LED is lit, it always shows the number 8 which I believe states that all is correct and functioning ok.

I have an R232 cable joining the pc to the black box, is it worth trying a new cable? maybe a loose connection within the pin connecting plugs is causing an issue, can any standard off the shelf 9 to 25 pin R232 cable be used?
