smart move

Hi all,

could anyone tell me if it is possible to connect vr milling to optimised controls smartMOVE servo controller instead of the smartstep?

as i can get a smartmove really cheap, i used to use them a lot in a former life!!

Is the smartMOVE RS232 based as well ?
Most functions will work if so, but bear in mind that we had special firmware so there could be commands or features which won't work (threading and move buffering were features in our firmware not available in the standard one at the time IIRC )
