I have similar problem with my VMC Triac. I made upgrade UGR 0007 my machine eight months ago.
My machine worked very well, but a few days ago something was happened that PC computer can't connect with machine.
The machine had no collision and nothing like it.
When I tried to reinstall USB card system Windows XP informed me that he doesn't recognize the device (unknown device).
All different attempts of the installation ended with the failure.
After turning the machine on USB card light yellow, red and orange led diodes.
On display led no light any segment.
I checked voltages after taking the card out and all are correct.
After putting the card into machine voltage +5v drop on + 1.5v and chip CY7C64713 it is getting very hot.
I have second old card Mint, which I put into machine to check machine.
It turn out that everything is OK. This is why I think that the USB card was demaged. What should I do in this situation? Have I got quarantee for this card?
Regards
Mack
Hi,
I consulted my colleagues, we thought it best that we restore the functionality of the CNC and then'll upgrade.
So we take the card you have at your magazine.
What other forms of payment do you accept? Sorry but my school doesn't have paypal.

Are you requesting a price for an upgrade to USB connection and our latest milling software (VR Milling Version 5)?
No, we are not sure the problem is only the card Eurostep, so first we want to replace the old eurostep with what you have, if it works we will upgrade.
I will need to check with our Service Engineer, to see if we have any of the older (Red LED) Eurostepper cards. They are out of production now, but we might have one that came in on a service exchange
My school has finally decided to buy the card.
I installed it yesterday and her 7-segment LED light with a nice 8, I was hoping it was all ok but when I tried to run in software I wrote the error in the image.
Any idea? I tried changing the file fanucmd.go but without success.

Make sure the card has the correct Dos Eprom fitted & not a VRMilling Eprom. It may be easier to replace the Eprom with the original one from the faulty card.
Hi. Are you running DOS software?
Can you check the version number on the EPROM on the new card and compare it with the version on the old one.
If they are different try switching the EPROMs over.

Hi and thanks for the quick responses.
On the old card's written MINT/3.28 v1.05c/S.
On the new card's written denMINT v2.1.b6.
I think that the old eprom is the reason why the card did not work.
If I put the Eprom in old card risk something new?

It is unusual for a Eprom to fail. I would try the original Eprom in the new card.
It seems like the eurocard has been sent with the 2.1 chip installed - this only works with VR milling software (windows based PC)
You must put the Mint 3.28 EPROM in from the original card for the DOS fanucmd software to work with it.

I tried to exchange the ECU but I get the same error <50> Mint controller disconnetted
there seems to be an error when loading the driver for RS232.

Does the 7-segment LED light up ok now ?
Maybe the RS232 connections have been disturbed and broken - can you check the cable from PC to 9-way going into the Euro-card as this post:

Maybe the old card has damaged the PC's serial port...you could try swapping the RS232 around with the tutor keypad.
However, you will need to alter the configuration file FanucMD.go
If you can post this file on here we should be able to advise what would need altering.
Relevant info to changing which port the fanucmd software uses is here:

If EPROM faulty then the LED should not light with anything normal like S ,E, L, 2 etc...
If it is the wrong EPROM for the DOS software, then it will still light up
