Hatch scaling
Would anyone be able to provide information regarding the "hatch" function. Specifically wishing to know what "scale" is referring to. The scale runs from 0 to 20, but is this a relationship to something, a ratio, ??????

Re: Hatch scaling
Hi,

The hatch function has predefined hatch patterns. If you click preview you will see what they look like. If the scale is set to 20 and you want the hatch with larger gaps just increase the scale.

to get a cross hatch use the line command and set the angle at 45 degrees. Then do another hatch with the angle at -45 degrees.

Re: Hatch scaling
The hatch scaling number simply scales (multiplies) the originally defined hatch pattern by the amount given.
So, it really has no meaning, unless you know how the original pattern has been defined.

PS- the file C:\Program Files\Denford\Common\hatches.pat is a text file which contains standard Autocad-style hatch pattern definitions.
For example, you could take any of the following patterns on this website https://www.cadcorner.ca/hatch.php
and copy-paste the new pattern definitions into hatches.pat and they will then be active within QuickCAM
Re: Hatch scaling
ok thank you admin

I am using this function to etch a circuit board with a .01" tool bit and was just trying to take some of the guess work out of what to set the scale to. Visualizing it in the program is good but still requires trial and error.
