Digiplan sd3 replacements
Hi, I have had both SD/3 drives go down on my mach3 Orac. I had one replacement, which is now working on the z axis. I was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for converting from the sd/3 drives to a modern, more available stepper driver, as it seems difficult to locate replacement digiplan dri...

Hi, Does anybody have a spare spindle motor pulley for a green triac? It has a 14mm diameter bore, with a 5mm keyway broached in. It has 14 splines on it for the timing belt. It is the one which goes on the output shaft of the motor. The diameter across the pulley is 42mm. Maybe Denford carry them o...

Wanted- Triac spindle motor pulley
Hi,
I am looking for a spare spindle motor pulley for a second motor that I have for my Green Triac.
If any one has one kicking around for sale, or knows where I could get one, I would be very grateful.
Thankyou.
Paul

Hi Martin,

Thanks

Triac upgrade options
Hi all, I have decided that the best way to get my 1986 triac functioning as I want it is to retro-fit a modern control system. I have been advised on here that the NEE control system cannot be updated, so I am looking at pulling everything out and starting from scratch. My knowlege of this type of ...

Re: Triac NEE software?
Thanks. I am looking to buy some software which would allow me to create a model of what I am hoping to machine, and generate a gcode program that I could then use by saving to a disk, opening in the text editor, and run on the machine. Is this possible, and which software would be applicable? The s...

Thankyou Martin.
Is it possible to paste gcode into the editor, if I use another program to generate it?
Cheers

Triac NEE software?
Hi,
My triac has the NEE control system.
I would like to be able to drip feed Gcode to it from a PC using the rs232 interface.
Is there any software available from Denford to do this?
Regards
Paul

Re: Input panel not working???
Thanks for that.
I have had a look, and there is only one wide ribbon cable coming from inside the touch panel to a connector on a board attached to the back of the panel itself.
The connections look good at the board end, is there any way to strip the touch panel membrane to check that end?
Thanks

Input panel not working???
Hi, Up until recently, the orac has been working fine. Now the Input panel has stopped working. There is no beeping when buttons are pressed. The manual control buttons work fine as does spindle start/stop, it is just the programming part of the panel which is broken. Anyone any ideas, or is it a ca...

Re: Threading on orac - help please
Hi If the program and tool datums are not the same when the program starts the tool will be move by the amount of difference between the 2. At page 3 enter G50 and set X 00 and Z 00, tool rubbing corner of workpiece. After entering the program go to manual mode to position the tool rubbing as above...

Re: Threading on orac - help please
Hi, I am using the lathe control panel to input the program, as it is the only way that I know how. I was using the 280RPM for speed, which I got from a thread cuting graph. I am unsure if I am entering the program correctly as I dont really understand the "program datum" values, and I'm not sure if...

Threading on orac - help please
Hi, I know that this is going to sound really lame, but could someone please post a correct GCode program for the Orac for thread cutting? The reason I ask is that I am very green with these machines, and when I try the threading, sometimes it works brilliantly, and other times the tool digs deep in...

Hi angel-tech,
Thanks for the reply.
I have just tried that, and still nothing at all. Does tis mean that I need to look for a replacement Brown&Pestell drive because this one is caput?
Cheers

Re: Triac power problem
Ok, I have tested the voltages with the wires disconnected, and between pins 4 and 5 I get approximately 7.8Vdc when spindle speed was set at 1000rpm. It then steadily decreased until the machine faulted out. When I connect the wires back on, the voltage is not there. I am guessing that this is what...

Re: Triac power problem
Hi,
I have been out and tested for those voltages.
I have no variable 0-10Vdc between 4 and 6.
There is also nothing between 5 and 6, so I presume that the reference voltage is missing, and thus causing the fault?
Is this voltage fused somewhere?
Thanks again
Paul
