i'm using a microrouter v4ns. the y axis has a lot of resistance on either end of travel, so much that it causes the motor to stall as it tries to go home. i disconnected the motor and moved it by hand, finding the resistance considerable on either end of the axis. we have cleaned and lubed the slides and screw (vacuumed and blown off with compressed air and lubricated with silicone spray).
any suggestions?
Try removing the 3 screws that hold the nut & winding the nut to the front. Then try it again. If it slides freely at both ends then tighten the nut when the slide is at the front which should align the nut.
i don't think it's the winding nut. when i removed the nut there was still resistance to movement at either end of the axis. i tried taking out the slides, cleaning them and lubricating them with silicone spray. there is still resistance. could the plastic sliding bushing be worn out/damaged? they don't appear damaged or worn out. could the slides be too close/far apart, so that they bind at the ends and not so much in the middle?
