LaserCAM 2d crashing when trying to choose paper or Vellum

We have a Versalaser 3.50, and we are trying to cut some card stencils out. Whenever we choose Paper or Vellum, the ULSCP crashes. Any ideas why? I've managed to do some using manual setting under balsa, but this is obviously not ideal.

Are you using the latest version of LaserCAM?

Version 1.15 can be downloaded from the Denford website.
