hi i am looking for some gearbox parts for my viceroy lathe ,when i purchased it off ebay i found there was a shaft,and gears missing ,i think it is possibly the sliding gear shaft and gears as there is no drive to the screw or feed shaft, it is in a bit of a sorry state but hope to rebuild it any help would be appreciated,the model is a td1/1gb which was sold to derby high school in 1966, great site ,thans mark.

Does the spindle turn? The screwcutting feed is driven off the end of the spindle. hi les just read your reply tried bede tools ,the lathes they have are not the gearbox models ,thanks for the reply,cheers mark.
pete everything turns by hand and the lathe works in a fashion just no power feed in the gearbox as there are some parts missing it looks as though some one as removed a shaft and gears because they were broken,i will upload some pictures of the gear box ,thanks mark.Pete. wrote:Does the spindle turn?
