Is it necessary to get the LaserCAM Software?
What are the differences between LaserCAM 2D and QuickCAM 2D?
No you don't need LaserCAM as well, QuickCAM is the same thing but with the addition of the CAM / toolpath wizard.
You can still print to the laser from QuickCAM
