I am having a problem with our versa laser laser driver software, we had the machine commissioned on Monday and were working on it with our administrator's log on. When I tried to use the same software with my own log on the system worked exactly as before but did not have any of the material settings loaded.

You have to give FULL CONTROL permission to the following folders:
\Program Files\ULS
\Program Files\ULSdb
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ULSVL
The last folder is a hidden folder, so the administrator must turn on "Show Hidden Files and Folders" setting in the Windows Explorer, View menu, Folder Options, Advanced Settings dialog box.
Applying these settings to the 'Everyone' Security groups should get you up and running
