Acrylic Laser cutting - Cast or Extruded ?

Extruded Acrylic is easier to cut with a Laser than Cast Acrylic, but Cast Acrylic is easier to cut on a Machine Tool than Extruded Acrylic

Extruded acryilic cuts leaving a lot smoother edge as it melts more easily.

When machining because of the easier melting it tends to gum up the cutter.

Cast acrylic tends to chip more freely when machining so gives a cleaner finish.
