sorted wire 31, all ok. correct voltage now
I replaced the Fanuc power unit in the back of the machine.
Not sure where main box is that you mean? machine or floor box

The Electrical Cabinet (main box) is on the back of the machine.
The floor standing box is called the "Transformer Box"

00001100 is showing as a E-Stop. "0"
bit 4 is the 5th from the right.
Does it change to a 1 when you press in & hold the "Axis Limit Switch Overide Button"???

70 & 71 should be 24 volts DC

71 to earth=0
70-71=waver of needle 10 volts maybe

The transformer, in the transformer box also has wires 70 & 71. No power when put to earth individually via the volt meter.
Duff transformer maybe?

Yes both 70`s & 71`s should be connected if the plugs & all connections are ok. It does appear that it may be the 24 DC power supply unit. Is there 100 Volts ac going in to it. It may be worth removing the output wires from the power supply just to make sure the 24 volts is not being pulled down.

Not too sure what or how to do this. The big transfomer in the box that has wires 70 & 71 has 100v on one side, is this power in or out?
Dont really understand what is meant here, sorry.

Yes the 24 volt dc power supply should get its input voltage from the 110 volts line. The fans in both cabinets get there power from the 110 volt so its easy to check if that is ok. I would sugest tracing wire number 71 (+24volts dc) from the 24 volt psu back to the terminals in the transformer box (from memory they were terminated using push on crimps to a six way terminal) & removing the wire from the terminal then power up & check if the 24volts is present. you can check on volts dc between earth or 70 & wire 71 that you have just removed.

Ok, will try this in about an hour when at the workshop. For what its worth, there is no fan in the transformer cabinet, but the one on the machines rear cabinet does work. There also seems to be a fan on the end of the spindle drive motor that can be seen to be in operation.

Wire 71 goes from a large transformer on the base of the box, then it goes out of the box via the left hand plug that connects to the machine.
No other evidence of wire 71 elsewhere
24v dc transformer is the very top left hand one ?

Can you post a photo of the inside of the transformer box & the electrical connections in the main control box.
It may be that the 24volts dc is 60(0v) & 61(+24v).
The power supply we used back then was a silver chasis with a transformer & pcb mounted on it if that helps to identify it.

In my Power Box the output from the 24V DC PSU is on 61(+) and 68(-) as measured across those connections.
AC input is 24 (N) and 25 (L)
At the bottom left hand corner of the 24V PSU is a Red LED that should be lit if you have power to the unit.

I have what you describe, but wires 24black & 25black then 61Blue & 68 blue.
I will check for 24vdc on 68

This may sound silly but there are Thermal cutouts on Fanuc Drive units, there should be a round white coloured dial with a red button in the centre somewhere on your Spindle Drive unit in the Main Control Box.
Check the red button hasn`t "popped out", if it has try resetting it and the switching on again.
Under no circumstance should you try to hold that button in and switch on at the same time!!
Another silly question, have you checked the fuses in the green holders on the Spindle drive unit.

wires 61 and 68 are dead in transformer box, and at every junction on the strip in the back cabinet. Wires 24 and 25 also seem dead in the box.
No sign of the dial overload thing you talked about
