Sadly this did not work.
I could not detect any difference from before the modified files.
Thank you for trying, Martin
Perhaps a replacement board is the only solution.

I was hoping you'd say that!
Away for a couple of days so I won't be able to get back to the machine until Thursday morning now.
I'll keep you posted.

Thanks Martin. I have just downloaded the files and unzipped them. Do I copy them to the same directory as before using the name Novamill55xx or rename them Novamill? I am just going in to work now, be there in a bout 30mins. Regards Steve.

Rename the two files:
NovaMill.55xx.mex to NovaMill.55xx.mexORG
and
NovaMill.55xx.mnt to NovaMill.55xx.mntORG
then copy the new ones in the .zip over to prog files\denford\vrmilling5

It worked !!!!
You've fixed it!!!
You have no idea how grateful I am, the numbers I was being quoted to have the board checked out / replaced were truly scary so thank heaven for helpful folk like you who are prepared to communicate with ordinary folk like me.
Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed!
Regards Steve.

Don't forget the input is faulty so if you ever update the VRMilling software you will need to install the 2 files supplied.
