everything works on the machine...
i have external moniter plus large floppy drive which i seldom have used.
I can courier to most of the uk for £100 on a pallet.

Hi Marc
Do you still have the machine? I am looking for such machine for some time now. Does it have a Fanuc control or is it something else?
Thanks Mate

...For my Orac I paid 1150 but it was fully equipped with power chuck and 8 station programmable turret. For this one i can give 800 now... I like to keep this machine at its original state. No plans for upgrading.
...The Orac I need.
Sorry Johan. But I have a better machine which I want to sell because I have 3 more lathes. It is an Emcomat 20E which I have purchased through ProMachine tools (official Emco dealer of U.K.)
And I have only used this one to cut polyamide.
If you need details or pictures about this lathe please let me know. Just PM me.
Are you located in Germany?
cheers

it looks like this lathe is sold.
No doubt about that.
But why the owner does not say it...

Hello All,
I'd just like to settle this for those who might be still wondering and for interests sake. - I bought this lathe last year from the original poster marc via eBay.
It does in fact work in it's original form, and is in (mainly) very good condition. (there's a bit of backlash in the x, the tail stock needs shimming and the cross slide adjuster hand wheel knob thing is missing) but apart from that it's pretty good.
For anyone who's interested, I plan to retrofit / upgrade the control system to a Windows XP PC / control board & drivers / Mach 3 at some point over the next few months, with the most useful addition of encoder hand wheels on the front somewhere so that I can have full manual control as well.
It's a great lathe, very well made etc, the only downside I can see, is the old manual G-code control system, but I guess most of you reading this already know that!...
This is my first post on this forum, and I'm still researching the possibilities for the Orac, so any feedback or tips would be very much appreciated.
Also thinking about it, if anybody's interested in having the original electronics from this Orac, get in touch. They're fully working in the original form, including the screen. The only parts I'll be keeping will be the motors, the stop switch and the encoder on the spindle (I think at this point). Once I've got the new system up and running, and all happy, the electronics can go free to a good home if any one's interested?
So yeah, I look forward to being able to share my forthcoming retrofit with you all soon.
Kind regards,
Nick

i would love to have the stepper drivers and support frame, and any transformers that you don't use even the inverter if you're not using it.
i would be happy to pay for these and all postage costs.
