Inspired by Paul Bray's Waltzing Matilda Denford machine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uhe0pewoA04
I've written a rough and ready program that will read in MIDI files and create G-code to play the tune on a stepper machine (in my spare time of course )
Here are a couple of g-code tunes I guess anyone could try out (they're in absolute values and only move the X axis back and forth)
(The Wild Rover is my favourite)
Enjoy

Re: Making machines play MIDI tunes !
Of course
It'll fit on a Router 6600
The shorter version will move from X+133.577 to X-285.991 which will fit onto a Router 2600 Let me know how it sounds!
Looks like you'll need a lot of X travel: from X+133.577 to X-635.230It'll fit on a Router 6600
