Wanted ORAC Spindle Drive Choke

Post by davidimurray »

Hello

Does anyone have one of these units going spare? I'm looking at an Orac for a friend that has been part retrofitted. The Parajust spindle drive is there, but the choke is missing. If anyone has one they wish to sell then please get in touch.

Cheers

Not sure how to test it
checked with meter and all I can say is it does not have an open circuit.

Hi Bert!
Good job...If it is a two terminal inductor it has to be the one. Could you please read the Impendance with your DMM?
If it reads nothing no problem I'll fix that.
But anyhow, if you took it out of an Orac lathe and it is something you may not need any more you do not need to make any tests. This is just what I am looking for. Because the red wire ends/connectors look pretty similar to those in my machine.
Just let me know what are you asking for this and I'll send you my email for the rest.

Cheers!

Hi.
Hmm On the 200m meter setting it reads 01.0, and that is the same if I touch the meter leads together.
Price ? don't know what they are worth.

...It looks like I've found a replacement. An electrician friend of mine took one out of a 350watt road lamp power supply. This was in a unit he had replaced. It reads 1.8 amps. Connected that in place of the missing one and got the inverter back to life.
And... last night I also found that old computer switch mode power supplies they all carry one.
I am happy again.
