Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Have you reset the 450 Diagnostics & 900 parameters including diagnostic 453.0?
Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
humm must double check settings, did run through setups but....
would not setting this marker put a block on the axis digits moving?
thanks

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Diagnostic 453 bit 0 is the diagnostic setup marker. As I knew it it set timers, counters & keep relays.
Without it being activated it just does not work.

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
well worth a double take on setup then.
over to the machine shop tomorrow again then.
big thanks

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
afternoon....
some good steps forward this moring.
all 900s have been set ar per the hand parameter list.
playing with the Diagnostics 453.xx
bit 0 resets instantly no obviouse effect with power reset.
however set bit 2 and a power reset, the DRO responds to hand movnemt of the slides.
but alarm 414 and 424: Axis detect err clips out along with 401.
time ran short this morning, so I'll be back over later to reset all numbers again.
it is good to see the DRO responding to movment.
thanks

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
That bit is a 'one-shot' and will reset itself.playing with the Diagnostics 453.xx
bit 0 resets instantly no obviouse effect with power reset.
The act of setting it to 1 should setup the timers diagnostics and keep relays for you automatically.
After that you may need to change some other option diagnostics and check all parameters are correct, including the 900 area Fanuc options
Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
evening
alas still no banana........
checked and rechecked all parameters, the only one different ti the manual was 600, it was set to 0 rather than 3.
spent some time tweaking much of 900s.
will have to double check the 3phase tomorrow/weekend........
just incase it is a phaseing problem.
is there any manual override to allow spining the headstock?
kind regards
Graham

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Getting the spindle output from the Fanuc will be tricky as everything will be interlocked in the PMC logic for safety.is there any manual override to allow spining the headstock?
Depending on the type of spindle drive you may be able to connect up a potentiometer and couple of push-buttons to get it to run without signals from the control.
If it's a digital drive though, you will need the Fanuc control to run it.
Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
good evening,
it is a digital driver....
but things seem to have gone from not workng to dead....
ok so the back-up D-cell where removed to force a reset ad left over night.
on switch on things don't look good, infact the screen reads
910 RAM PARITY : (LOW)
follwed by a bunch of hex....
dont seem to be able to go any further and the 910 error code in the book reads, replace master PCB.
could it be I have a dry joint or two on the PCB which is has become obvious by the cold weather?

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
This is now where you need to power up with 2 keys pressed. I think it's Reset & Delete, then input 900 parameters, then all parameters & 450 Diagnostics.
Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Hi Martin,
ill try that tomorrow provided the snow is not to deep
I'd tried a few two button presses such as 'RESET & CAN' 'CAN & P' '...&input' pt did not try 'RESET & DEL'
in the hope to get to re-enter the parm data.
lets hope.
it looks quite a pig to retorfit over to somthing else with that digital spindle controler.

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Don't forget you need to hold them in as you power it up.
Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
thanks,
just to check depress buttons,
press green power on,
hold till boot is completed.
its a cracking lathe and be good to get it fully working again, started the review work on an interact today the controller for that is very toast! I'll be putting EMC2 on and probably a Mase 5i20 card.
respects

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Yes, Think it's 'RESET & CAN' but quite a while since I have done it.
Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
cold afternoon....
ok checked 3phase, and all seems to be ok.
reset the box and input all parameters bit by bit checking for any operation as I when.
alas no operation still a hand 'not ready' but not obvious alarms.
still no DRO reading movment when manually turning any lead screw until Diag 453,2 is set
on pwer-up drive servor board relays cycle and the 401, 414 and 421 error messages are raised.
but the DRO Z & X digets do cycle then.
tried overriding deviation set values to make them wider in an attempt to stop the 414,421.
worked through setting bits in 900s. this was done bit by bit up to 910. then I loaded byte by byte blocks.
somewhere 911-914 the machine hung on boot and th only way to over come this was 'reset & CAN' which results in a full memnery lose.... time to start again!!!
is there a list indicating what the 900 bits are for? also is there any info on the diagnostic bytes (especially the 450s)
my maunual list only though the 200s.
is there any zeroturn(or simular) users near ish the wrexham area, that I might contact such to review thier parameters/diag.
it will live again!!!!
regards
Graham
ps
sorry just realised I have the 450 data......

reading over some of the cyclone stuff is helpful....

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Evening good sirs......
crazy day, cold as.
well it breaths!!!
following a good looking in the cyclone and thanks to some PM recieved, the lather has been spining headstocks and moving slides.
I went to mapins and picked up two tins of contact /electronics cleaner, armed with them, manuals and laptop I spent the first hour stripping and cleaning boards/plugs/relays just about everything that might pass some current.
then entered the 900s
daignostics
and started at zero.....
generally resetting every page or so.
I entered the 8*00 but did not chance all the param values to start. the motors in the param list start type 6, at some stage the 8100,1 set the show a valid motor, yet the embedded param values are not correct to the book.
any this point a mate came in and I was just showing him the system.
turned off and on, system posted. and the servos started to sing. they actually worked even with the incorret param settings, albeit not very well.
not the less, I changed the values to those in the book, and thing got better.
few more tweaks and the system is almost stable, almost!!!
Zaxis is a bit juddery and troughs exceptions and trips the 414,424 for both axis. I think this is more to do with supply and needing to bed the system in again. and it is dang cold!!!
it happens mre so on G0 and setting home.
have not got the jogwheel to function yet, may be a software that I've not tweaked maybe a plus the need cleaning. I can not see obviously a code in param or daig yet. but will keep looking
the headstock spins nicely, set speed 5000, records 4997.
I'll not get over there now till Friday, and will spend some time reading on this board somemore along with the manuals.
thanks for all your helps,
Graham

Hi Graham,
Good news, i bet you were
I would help if i could but i think you are on the next level to me
I have the fanuc manuals if they will be of any help, they are for the om and ot?

Hi Graham,
The Manual Pulse Wheel will be in the 900 parameters.

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
yes indeed very
as for the next level, level down maybe
agree Martin the value must bein the 900s, I'll tweak them more later in the week. They are set as per the manual here, the wheel worked in past setups and I assume the setup was as per the book. This is what makes me think there maybe another dirty connector in the setup.
kind regards

Re: ZeroTurn 1008, 1017 alarms
Great to hear it's working...they're never the easiest things to commission !
It does sound like the motors are struggling at speed so hopefully that will go away and warm up with use.
Just make sure the motor type number is correct for the axes motor's 8020;8120 and then change the bit 8000.1 dgprm to 0 which will fill in the motor values from the ROM
also have a check of 908.0
