DOS software running on a Laptop with no 3-1/2" floppy

Post by bradders » Tue 20 Feb , 2007 15:32 pm

I have a Denford Machine (DOS) software floppy discs that I cannot run on my laptop because there is no 3-1/2" disc drive, is there any other way to get the software running on the hard disc and boot from there ?

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

It depends on what the OS is on the Laptop - the older the better really - the software should work from windows, but you may have problems with RS232 comms.

Its certainly worth trying to create a Virtual DOS or Win3.11 machine on your new system with VMWare player - I think you might be able to create Virtual floppy disk drives, which are really just a file on your hard disk.
