VR Milling Upgrade problem

Post by Paul Wilson » Thu 03 Aug , 2006 8:30 am

Our school has a denford microrouter which is connected to a PC which is running VR Milling 2.1 (1999). I understand that this version is now quite old and today I tried to upgrade to the current version of VR Milling 5. However when I try to run VR Milling 5, a message pops up saying dongle not found. The dongle is howver attached and the old version of vr milling runs fine.

What am I doing wrong? Is my dongle not recognised by the current version of VR Milling?

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers
Paul

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Hi, nice to hear from you

VR Milling version 5 uses a different method of security so your old dongle just wont work with it.
This is because V5 was such a massive improvement on V2 that its really a new product and warranted an upgrade fee.

You can still download the latest version of V2 here:
http://www.denfordata.com/downloads/VRM ... _31_CD.zip (160Mb Zip of the CD)
This is the final version of this software and is very stable - however it lacks the new features like PCB and DXF importing, USB hi-speed contouring, fast editor, quick 3D program check etc...

If you want to know whats new in version 5 then have a look at this document:
