Installation problem!

Post by Adam Zalewski » Mon 27 Mar , 2006 13:13 pm

I have a problem concerning to VR CIM installation on my notebook (Polish version of Win XP Professional).
I can run VR world (any from five cim room levels), but I can't run any of host software (no Configurator, Dispatcher etc.).
There are appears message: "usage rights not found".
I use files: Flash_VR_CIM.exe and "SecKey.tff".
Can you help me?
Best regards
Adam

Note?
On XP PC's Install VR Robot first and then VR CIM (so it does not screw up the CIM.INI file)
NFDM=0 needs changing from 1 to 0 in CIM.INI [setup]

With your Dongle in the parallel port on your PC, search for a program called DRIGHTS.EXE and run from the DOS prompt. This will give you the products you can run

Hi,

Thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunatelly, I still can't to run Host Software.
I installed VR Robot first, than VR Cim. I checked parameter NFDM=0.
Without effects.

My PC doesn't have floppy drive 3.5". I put all files from registration disc to VR CIM catalog.

When I use "Flash_VR_CIM.exe" all the time appears message:
"VR CIM has not been installed or cannot be found, do you wish to sarch for the config. file (cim.ini) your self?"
I put OK and use cim.ini file from VR CIM catalog. No errors. I can to start VR rooms, but I can't to start Host software. Always I get message:
"Usage rights not found".
Please answer as soon as possible.
Best regards
Adam

Hi Adam,

I have just done a clean install on an XP PC of both VR Robot and VR CIM and the both worked OK. The only thing i can see that would make a difference is the wrong Flash code. The Flash code on the 3-1\2" floppy
should look like this

Flash_CIM.exe

Can you confirm ?

Basic installation sequence

1. Install VR Robot
2. Run the Flash_CIM.exe from the 3-1\2" registration floppy disc
3. Install VR CIM
4. Make sure NFDM=0 in the CIM.ini file

If a window appears of the order " USER IDENTITY REGISTRATION" exit this and carry on installation sequence as above

Regards

Graham

Dear Graham,
I'd like to confirm, I use "Flash_VR_CIM.exe".
Can you send me new file to Zalco?
Best regards, Adam

As I remember, VR CIM Software was sold in 2 levels

- VR CIM

- VR CIM with Host Control

The "VR CIM" version was supplied either as a Dongled version of Flashed version

The"VR CIM with Host Control" was only available as a Dongled version.

Which means that if you install the Flash information into "VR CIM with Host Control", the VR part will work OK, but the Host Control part will not work unless you have a Denford Dongle connected that has permissions to run the Denford CIM Host Control software. If the dongle does not have these permissions then your will get the error "Usage Rights Not Found".

I am sure that if you send to Denfords details of your purchase order on which you bought the original "VR CIM with Host Control" software they will be able to send you information about the correct dongle serial number you should be using.
