Hi, looking at getting a Microrouter Compact (2005) online and wondered what the max work piece/billet size I could use in it please?
Thanks

Re: Work Area
Hi,
thanks for the reply.
I have the Microrouter now and been setting it up and have created my first sign, which I was happy with ---- mostly.
It used a long 1/4" ball nose cutter. I also got some 1/8" end mill and a 1/4" V-bit cutter. These are only about 40mm long.
I want to cut into 6mm MDF so what is the best option to reach the material with these shorter cutters.. I thought the tools z- offsets would help, but on further reading that's not the case. Would I get longer bits or raise the material by fixing to a waste block with double sided tape? Is there such a thing as a bit extension ?
any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Trevor,
This post would have been better in the microrouter section on the forum
https://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewforum.php?f=38
You could download the manual from there.
It is possible to lower the motor mounting plate so the tools can get down to the bed. You can see the screws to adjust this in the attached photo

Re: Work Area
Hi,
sorry for the wrong topic area.
I have the original manual and I saw the bolts. If I lowered it to the bottom bolt it only leaves it on 2 bolts and the trigger switch bar doesnt reach the trigger switch. I will just work on adding a thicker waste block to the table for now.
Thanks again..

Re: Work Area
Not over familiar with the compact but on the microrouter the motor mount plate bolts to a unit which travels up and down on the z guides. This has the z axis trigger on it so that stays the same. You are just moving the mount up or down on that. Ill try to remember to take a pic tomorrow. It might be different on the compact.
