What other CAD software can I use?

So I have VR CNC Turning V.1.15, and I'm wondering what cad software I can use to create designs for my microturn 2000? Preferably not Denford Design software. and the default file open for vr turning on my version is .fnl. If I open a .nc file on the 3d simulation the cutting head just kind of jiggles around on the stock, never actually doing anything.
