hello gentlemen and ladies, I have just bought this 280 synchro and looking for a wiring diagram it is a single phase machine and at some point it has been hacked by an electrician who replaced the motor, can anyone help also a manual would be great. I have quite a few original manuals for the tds and sharpedge plus drawings and would be happy to forward them to you for inclusion on the site if needed.

thanks Mark

Hi Mark,
I've added 2 wiring diagrams for the 1ph machines (2 motor options) in the post 'Synchro Wiring drawings' this thread : viewtopic.php?f=50&t=2960

I've not found a manual for the Synchro, but for the most part (slinging, installation, lubrication, gearbox and apron controls) it will be the same as the 280VS.
I've put a manual for that in the same thread.
There's another version of it (slightly different) which is too big to post, but if you pm me with your email address I can send it direct.

Andy

Hi All,

I have an imperial 280 synchro which I set up for metric screwcutting. I now can't remember the set up for imperial! Could anyone supply a diagram or photo of the gear set up for imperial screwcutting? Many thanks in advance, John

Umm, the metric and imperial set ups use different quadrants and different gears. It isn't as easy as just swapping a few gears.

Thanks Richard,
In fact this problem solved itself.......when I came to look again, there is only one set up for imperial and the only variable was the 24 tooth gear at the top of the train - which I had carefully placed in a drawer. So thanks for any thoughts, but this is now solved.
Best regards, john
