Locking up when homing

Post by dixonsca » Mon 14 Sep , 2020 13:01 pm

Hi all. Hope everyone is well.
We have a Turn 270 which has worked fine for the last 5 years however it has now developed an intermittent fault. It runs fine, cuts out a part with a couple of tool changes in amongst parts off and heads to home. As X and Z head home they come to the meeting point, theres a "clunk" and then the machine locks up and throws up a door open error message. I then, within VR Turning, have to disconnect from machine and re connect to home the axis before I can run another file. Have attached a video in the zip file.
Any ideas much appreciated.

I have seen similar before.

It looks to be as the spindle stops & the door unlocks.

The only way to fix it is to replace the Bernstein Interlock Switch from what I have seen.

Hmm. It stops before all axis have reached home though, so this would be before the door unlocks? If I try the door it is still locked.

Have you updated the software recently?

The door unlocks after a short dwell when the spindle stops.
