Siezed Drill
Hi
We have managed to sieze a 5mm drill in a piece of alluminium, as a result the whole machine shut down and the software froze. We have managed to start the software but we cannot do anything with the machine, not even open the door. Any ideas?

Re: Siezed Drill
You may have blown a fuse in the electrical panel. You will need to remove the end cover to check them.
Re: Siezed Drill
Thanks. We have found the the fuse has blown in the plug, just waiting for a new 5 amp fuse to see what other fault there may be.
Re: Siezed Drill
It should be a 13amp fuse in the plug top.
Re: Siezed Drill
Thanks, I don't know why somone would have put a 5 Amp fuse in, any reason? I have repalaced it with a 13 amp and all is good agrain. On another note how do we programme the lathe to take small pecks when drilling alluminium? The drill was cutting 5mm deep at a time so wasn't clearing the swarf hence the seizure.
Re: Siezed Drill
What software are you creating the program with?
Re: Siezed Drill
Or should that be 'Quick Turn 2D Design'
Re: Siezed Drill
You can alter it if you go to OPTIONS then select MACHINE MATERIALS
You can then change the values for each material.
