Saving Offsets

Post by tecteach » Thu 19 Aug , 2010 10:24 am

I am having trouble saving and retrieving offsets.
I am using Quickturn 2D to create the machine code and VR turning to run the machine.
I am setting the offsets in VR turning and at the end of the machining cycle pressing file, save. This saves the .fnl file in the mydocs/denford/cnc files directory under the same name as the quickturn file. However, I am finding that the offsets are not being saved at times and this has almost caused a tool crash into the workpiece :delirious:
Can you advise me on the correct procedure for saving offsets to save my sanity ! :dumbfounded:
Why did I choose this profession, cos it aint for the money !

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

This post shows the location of the tool offset file:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2477&hilit=default.tft

With the tooling dialog open, try saving the file from the menu that appears at the top.
It could be that VR Turning is not shutting down properly for some reason, and therefore not able to save the current tool offset settings on exit.
