bit of a common theme of recent times that my x table isn't great.

its not sounding very smooth at all, the ball screw seems fine so assuming its the two bearings. they are cheap enough to swap out.

ive asked this before and ill ask it again how do you work out correctly how tight to do the tab nut up?

also is there a certain way angular contact bearings should go in and where can I get a new tab washer from?

all info welcome

thanks

morning Andy, drawings for the table are on this site "triac-ATC-brochures-and-illustrated-parts-list-OCR"

tab washers should be available from any engineers merchants.

No idea on the torque for the bearings, you just get the feel of it. Getting the assembly clean and free of any crap is the important bit.

Have you checked the oilers are working correctly, and check the ballscrew for any wear.

Hi tom,

Will have a look for that drawing cheers.

Oiler is working perfect as it's dripping in smelly oil and had the balls in the ball screw replace a few months ago

I was doing some reading on angular contact bearings last night and I get the impression they are suppose to go in a certain way, I just don't know what way that is
