Any ever put a servo motor in a Triac VMC?

anyone ever replaced with spindle motor on a triac vmc with a servo motor?

Yes, our later machine the VMC 1300 Pro uses a Baldor 6000RPM servo motor.
Be aware that the spindle head bearings are upgraded on the PRO machine, they are better quality and a matched, preloaded pair.
...the standard VMC 1300 machine uses the same bearings and a similar spindle to the Triac machine you will have.

You could still fit a servo without changing the bearings if you keep the speed to 4000RPM max.

ill keep an eye on ebay see what comes up. any recommendations for a drive board?
ive only owned the triac for a month so am very new to all this.

i probably know the anwser to this but ill ask anyway, has anyone tried / is it possible to tap threads using the stock motor on this machine without a tapping head. so tap straight in chuck?
