Starturn 5 PC connections

Post by melcat » Sat 28 Sep , 2013 21:30 pm

Hello everyone,

I have just re homed a Starturn PC from a college. In very good condition.

Just want to ask about connecting parts to PC.

Now I ended up with Tutor Keboard, qwerty keyboard, mice and control box.

Do I just connect Tutor Keyboard and control box into Serial ports in the back of the old PC?

The keyboard and mouse do I leave them in the box and not use them?

I will take photos tomorrow if needed.

Thanks

Mel

It depends.

Unless the PC has been set up to run the Starturn on boot up you will need the keyboard & mouse to launch the machine control software.

The Machine & Desk Top Tutor as you say plug directly in to the serial ports. The Machine will need to be connected via a RS232 lead & the Tutor via a standard pin to pin lead.

Hi melcat.
I too am trying to set up a starturn pc onto a "new" pc.
I am getting nowhere fast.
I will watch your progress with interest.
If I make any breakthroughs I'll post them here.
So far all I can get is a message telling me my keyboard is not connrcted, even when it is.
