Following on from some useful info in this thread:

I am only just getting round to finding out if I can make the machine work (the chap storing it for me either wants me to get it working for him or get rid of it).
From the previous thread, it appears I need another port on the back of my computer, but it does not have one.
I bought the starmill with the PC and floppy discs all installed on the computer. It looked like someone had it working before I bought it, but they were not around to show me how to work it.
So do I need another com port (because there isn't one - which is odd if someone had it working before)
It seems I have a choice of plugging the desktop tutor into the com port, or plugging the RS metal connector into the com port (via the moulded adaptor).
Would that work?
The metal RS connector from the big black box of circuit boards and power must plug into the computer I guess, which means the desktop tutor cannot (at the same time).
Is that OK, and I just run the starmill via one of the two software packages on the computer?
So why did it all come with a desktop keyboard?
Thanks if you can make help me make head or sense of this. Would be great to get it working. It looks like it has seen light use.

It does look like you only have 1 serial port.
You can edit the .go file & use the qwerty keyboard or fit a additional card to the computer depending on the opperating system.
