Z-Axis | Odd Problem | Not homing | VR Miller reports switch as pressed.

Post by HunterScotty » Wed 01 Jun , 2022 10:23 am

Hello,

I have an odd problem with my 2600.

The X axis will not home. Instead, creeps downwards until out-of-limit.
I have checked the microswitch continuity using the multimeter and it is working.

I have also checked the signal to the NextMove ST board, by using a mulitmeter on the screws/pins where the microswitch connects to; the resistance value changes when I press the microswitch limit in the machine, so I assume the signal is getting to the board.

VR miller is reporting that the switch is pressed, regardless if is or not. Hence, why the machine is creeping. As soon as I connect to the machine using VR Miller the microswitch reports as pressed.

Has anybody encountered this problem before? Any ideas on a fix?

Thank you,
Scott

Update:

I swapped the wiring for Z limit switch with Y (Which is next to Z).

VR miller is still reporting that Z is pressed. When I press the Z-limit switch, it reports Y as being pressed - which show the switch and wiring are working. At a real loss. Could this be a firmware issue? Could someone give me a walk-through for reflashing the firmware? Or can someone think of another issue/fix? Please help!

Thank you,
Scott
