Hi all,
We're attempting to mill an existing aluminium case front panel (from a 1U & 2U rackmount enclosure) to include cutouts for connectors and displays, and need to figure out how we can hold the panel so that it's square with the machine X & Y axis — so that when we mill a cutout it is square with the machine and thus the edge of the panel.
We've thought of some ideas including fixtures, but we're not sure what edges inside the machine working area we can use to get a reference for being square. Using the bed doesn't seem ideal, as there is some amount of wiggle present when using the T-nuts and bolts to hold things in place. We debated using the bearing blocks as presumably they'd be square, but again without confirmation we're hesitant to do this.
Any advice on fixturing would be appreciated!

not used a 2600 but on the Microrouter there is an Aluminium L sections under the X travel lead screws. For doing just what are doing I have fixed 18mm MDF or Plywood to tham and then screwed through the Rack fixing points (You can use the router to machine holes to screw insert nuts into https://www.screwfix.com/p/insert-nuts- ... pack/59937) into the base board. Double sided tape along the full length of the panel to reduce chatter mid length.
