Input panel not working???

Post by PDodds » Tue 15 May , 2012 17:05 pm

Hi,

Up until recently, the orac has been working fine.
Now the Input panel has stopped working.
There is no beeping when buttons are pressed.
The manual control buttons work fine as does spindle start/stop, it is just the programming part of the panel which is broken.
Anyone any ideas, or is it a case of replacing only?

Thanks

These might help:

I guess you need to be looking for corroded or cracked connectors or cables.

Thanks for that.

I have had a look, and there is only one wide ribbon cable coming from inside the touch panel to a connector on a board attached to the back of the panel itself.

The connections look good at the board end, is there any way to strip the touch panel membrane to check that end?

Thanks

Membranes are usually just glued on to the circuit board.
It probably is corrosion but taking it apart to clean, could well make it difficult to get back together
