CnC with MACH 3

Post by firebird » Mon 16 Mar , 2009 18:49 pm

Hi

Can anybody help me out I’ve been given an orca cnc lathe (unfinished retrofit)
It’s running with Mach 3 turn
I’ve got it calibrated to do 1 step to 1mm
I zero the DRO and jog one step in step mode the DRO reads 2.0000 in diameter and radius modes I’ve gone through the entire screens
I don’t know what I’m looking for to try to change it to read 1.0000

Thanks Firebird

It is correct, moving 1.00mm on the X Axis on a Lathe is 1.0mm on the radius which is 2.0mm on the Diameter, this is normal for a lathe positioning readout.

When machining you always need to know the actual diameter and that is what the control should show.

Rob
