Manuals and cam software for Novaturn

Post by dg » Mon 26 Mar , 2007 18:27 pm

Hello all,

I have just got a new novaturn lathe so there may be a few questions i'm afraid....

First of all, does the novaturn lathe come with a instruction manual itself (i.e. for the machine not the software) ? I guess there isn't much to say but it would be nice to know if there is one.

Secondly what CAM software do people use with the lathes. I guess for most parts it isn't really needed but it would be handy for some. I've looked at a few and those that handle things like threading appear to be very expensive.

Many thanks in advance.

David.

what CAM software do people use
At the moment, we only have our fairly basic LatheCAM software available :(
We are currently working on a fantastic new Lathe CAD CAM system :D which will allow you to design a part, import profiles from other CAD systems and automatically pick the right tools to make the part (including threading)
For the moment though, you may have to keep searching for something

As for the Machine Manual, there is one available and I will put a link to it on the downloads section here.

The manual is great - thanks for your help!

One more quick question - Ddo you still sell the lathecam software as it sounds like it is worth a try?

Hi David,

Apparently you should have got a free copy with the new machine anyway ?
I'll sort and send a copy out for you today if you didn't :)

The CD image can be found here:

You will still need to have your dongle or license code disk for it to run though
