Novaturn toolchanger - interface to mach / non Denford card

Post by bpmsl » Sat 17 Aug , 2013 16:37 pm

Hi all,
I'm looking at using a usbcnc controller in my novaturn, everthing looks good for the stepper drives and the spindle controller, but I dont know how the toolchanger is interfaced to the control card. Can anyone shed any light?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

The turret motor is a DC motor driven forward by 24V and backwards to lock by 12V. The motor is permenantly energised. The position of the turret is monitored using 3 optical sensors in the turret body providing a grey scale position readout. These go to inputs 3,4 and 5 of the control card.

The attached link is to the schematics.

Thanks CNC Guru,
Having finally got round to reviewing the content of the drawings, am I correct in assuming that all I need to do is close the toolpost control card (in the big black box?) connections TPFR circuit (6 and 7) until the outer middle and inner sensors (control box cores 92, 93 and 94) give me 0 or 12v in the appropriate pattern? If so this is much simpler than I could have ever hoped!

Any help much appreciated...

Cheers
