Novaturn RPM not matching program. Thoughts?

Post by dbohm » Thu 17 Aug , 2006 16:59 pm

My Novaturn runs somewhat slower than programed RPM.

For instance, if I program 2000 RPM, it will run somewhere in the high 1700's

Any ideas on what I should look for or check out?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

When you say it runs slower how do you know this? Are you using a tacho to get the speed or are you reading the on screen reading?

Have you got a spindle overide knob on the machine? Is this set to 100%.

What is the top speed you can achive if you try to run the spindle at maximum?

In the black control box there is a spindle drive which is probably in the lower right part of the cabinet. This has potentiometers to control the spindle. Try adjusting the Max speed pot to set the Top Speed RPM.

I was using the on screen reading.

I will check the actual speed with a laser tachometer and if neccesary adjust with the potentiometer in the control box.

Thanks for your help.
