Spindle Motor Access

Post by TomJennings » Mon 13 Sep , 2021 20:59 pm

Please Can you help me?
I would like to check the spindle motor brushes, and also adjust the belt.
Two of the four screws that are holding the motor are obstructed by the belt, so how do you adjust the belt when you can't get at the screws?
I would also like to get the motor out, to check the bearings, and brushes. How do I do this?
Tom.

Hi Tom

You can get the motor brushes out without removing the motor. If you lower the Z axis slide & remove the rear cover you can will see the cap holding the brushes which you can unscrew.

To get to the front brushes remove the 2 screws underneath the head that retain the plate that slides up & down covering the leadscrew. You can then see the cap behind the leadscrew which you should be able to unscrew.
