MIRAC tool turret

Post by stevecrabb » Fri 19 Jan , 2007 21:17 pm

Problem: The turret continues to rotate and does not locate and stop on the tool.

Checked: The rotary switch and micro switch appear to work correctly. The wiring to them is good. The turret appears to extend to far out when it rotates and the slotted shaft no longer contacts the switch operator tab. We have not been able determine what causes the turret to stop in the extend direction. If the rotary switch is loosened and held where it can contact the slotted shaft, then the turret will operate correctly and retract and lock as expected. Any assistance with adjustments or info relating to turret opertion will be appreciated.

What type of turret is this? Is it a Barrafaldi?

Has the turret worked until recently or has the machine been moved and reinstalled?

If it is a 3 phase turret have you got the phases correctly connected? If not it will turn continuously.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Can you attach some pictures of the bits you are talking about ?
Its a bit hard to imagine what the
switch operator tab
is ?

(see here for help doing this: viewtopic.php?t=597)

It would also help to know which turret it is - I can then put up the logic sequence so you can see what should be happening and when.
