1967 Viceroy cross slide seems to be a bit missing

Post by Kimg » Fri 11 Aug , 2023 9:19 am

Hi I am new to this site and I am looking for information on a viceroy lathe in regards to the cross slide on a 1967 lathe there seems to be a bit missing
between the feed nut and the cross slide the counter bore in the cross slide is about 5/8" dia and about 4mm deep the boss on the nut is half inch diameter by 3/32" deep is there a drawing for this item or a picture so I can make one as I can not see them fitting a 1/2" boss with tolerance of 2 thou in a 5/8" hole and just using the screw to keep it in position Thanks in advance any help welcome

regards

The nut should have a 5/8" spigot. Perhaps yours has a compound slide nut fitted or one off another lathe?
