Microrouter Compact guard door not unlocking

Post by boots » Tue 12 Feb , 2008 16:48 pm

The guard door will not unlock on the Microrouter Compact. I completely took out the e-stop switch and blew out the debris from the contacts with an air compressor. The switch is closed so I was unable to get to the contacts inside. We removed the access panel under the guard lock and vacuumed out thouroughly. The LED on the back panel still has a green 2 showing.

Any suggestions?????

Check fuses F1, F2 and F3 are OK ? if so then there is a contact on the Emergency Stop Relay (ESR) that puts power onto the timer unit, once the timer unit had timed out (Usually after 4 secs) a contact closes and puts 24v Ac onto the Guard Soleniod which should then allow the door to be opened

There is a way to unlock the guard - Use Only for Test Purposes. Remove the access panel under the guard lock, on the guard lock is a small black disk with a hex inset, for an Allen wrench, that is held in place with a small screw. Remove the screw and turn the disk with an Allen wrench 90 degrees, this will unlock the guard and keep it unlocked, bypassing the guard lock safety feature.

The guard sensor still works but the guard can be opend with the spindle running. The spindle will stop but there is a time that it takes to slow down that is protected by the lock.
