Microrouter V3 and VRmilling V5 - which Mint file to use?

Post by JSKRABA » Wed 27 Mar , 2013 15:01 pm

Hi Support and Wise people

Just got hold of a Microrouter V3 with Denstep card and V2.1 Rom (see attached pic)
I am using V5.3 VR milling and it connects and does work HOWEVER.

On loading the Mint file the Router Motor switches on while downloading, it the shuts off again when its all loaded and started, not too safe!
This happens when using microrouter.mnt and microrouter.55xx.mnt
Which one is the correct file?
Also I use the Com port 1 set to 19200,8,2, and it communicated but its intermittent, ie between every Gcode line it pauses as though its waiting for each line to load rather than having some buffering.
Questions, Is the ROM Version fitted the latest for the board and V5 software?
If not can it be updated?
Are there some settings I am missing and should change.
This may all be down to the correct Mint file in my first question.
Using Vista on a fast laptop with built in proper serial port.

Thanks for any help

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

From V5 you should be selecting Legacy Machines and Router Denstep.
None of those mints you mention will work on the Red LED denstep boards.
See selecting and configuring the machine PDF here:
