Microrouter Spindle not running

Post by bradders » Thu 04 May , 2006 8:41 am

Description of problem: Router connects to computer and operates normally but after about 30 minutes operation it will shut down. Programme and NC code will continue. Attempting to restart results in normal operation until point where motor spindle should start. At this step in the NC code an audible click can be heard but the motor spindle will not operate. Other steps in the NC code will continue normally. Have tried restarting software, rebooting laptop, pulling router plug cleaning and reattaching, cycling switch on router motor off and on, checked fuses behind rear panel, etc. Some time later the machine again operated normally but shut down halfway through job again. Please help.

You may need to replace the Spindle motor carbon brushes

Small Router Motor ( Red on/off switch under a plastic cover )
Pt No BI02501AB

Large Router Motor ( Silver toggle on/off switch )
Pt No BI00307NB

Could also be the plug on the motor has worked loose in the socket. Check that the motor is correctly plugged in.
