Lead screws on microturn?

Post by JimLS » Wed 18 Oct , 2017 19:18 pm

Considering a used microturn unit and wondering if the lead screws are acme or ballscrews on these machines? What's the capability to turn aluminum and steel on this? I don't expect to hog out big cuts but would like to do some small parts.

The unit has lead screws but the pitch is very fine.

The machine body is made by sherline which should give you some idea of its suitability.
