Microturn 2000 - G codes

Description of problem:

When the students create a program on the cam designer, they make a g-code, the transfer to the VR turning program is incorrect. The radiuses are backwards. I have to change the radius from g3 to g2 and vise-versa. If I don’t the cutter will gouge the billet. Sometimes when the VR turning 3D shows it runs correctly when the machine runs, it still gouges the Billet.

Resolution: Please see the links below. It does not appear that you have a malfunctioning machine or defective software, but rather may just need to either make a few adjustments in your program or re-set your offsets. The G codes are set up for industry where the cutter is on the back side of the material. The G codes need to be manually changed or follow the instructions in tech article #3005 on changing the internal code for the Microturn so that the G Codes will be correct when machining a part that is designed in Lathecam.

This way you will not have to manually change the G Codes. However in 2D/3D simulation it will be wrong, as the tool is coming in from the back side of the material.

Search for the fanucl.ini file and found in C:\Denford\Config.
Open the fanucl.ini file in Notepad and scroll down until you find CNC Lathe (inches) and add the lines
CWCode=3
CCWCode=2

Then scroll down farther until you find Microturn (inches) and add the lines
CWCode=3
CCWCode=2

If you are working in Metric, do the (metric) machines also.

Make sure you SAVE (Ctrl + S) before closing the file.
